Fix an incorrect app or site classification
Correct a mislabeled application, website, window title, or work-purpose rule.
For OwnersFor Admins
The short answer
Open Classifications as an authorized admin, review the exact app, site, or title evidence, and apply the narrowest rule that correctly describes the organization’s work purpose.
01
Why a useful file can look unproductive
The visible window title and the executable are different signals. For example, a work folder named Hospital Charges may appear under Windows Explorer. If a broad Explorer rule is unproductive, the title can inherit that result until a narrower work rule is added.
Correct the rule, not the employee’s historical intent. Classification changes should describe the organization’s policy consistently.
02
Apply a narrow correction
- 1Open the activity row and note the application, process, site, and window title.
- 2Decide whether the work purpose is always true or only true for a narrower title or domain.
- 3Create the narrowest matching rule that avoids catching unrelated personal activity.
- 4Review similar activity before applying the same decision broadly.
- 5Recheck the report after classification refresh to confirm the intended change.
